COMPANY PROFILE
Carefree Self-Storage was created in the late 80's by Alvan L. Schrader of Plymouth, MN. The first location built was the Blaine, MN facility followed by the Fridley, MN location in the mid-90's. The Hudson, WI facility was built in 2002 and the Rogers, MN location in 2005.

Al Schrader's concept for Carefree is to make storage easy and affordable. Feel free to shop our prices. You will see that they are extremely competitive. We are not a huge national company. We are a local operator that wants your business the first time and the next. We make your experience easy and fun with no added fees.

We add to your convenience by having keypad entries, well lit common areas and lights inside every unit. Our hours of operation are set up to work with your schedule and our Managers live on site to be of assistance.
SOLID PROVEN EXPERIENCE
We Are the One You Can Trust with ALL your storage needs!
HOW MUCH SPACE DO I NEED?

Always a tough question. The best frame of reference is to think of each unit as something you can identify with. For example, a 10×30 is 300 square feet or roughly the size of a single car garage. You can visualize on down from there. The 5×5 units are the size of a small walk-in closet.
WHAT ARE MEASUREMENTS FOR ENTRY DOORS?

Each door is 8′ high by 8′ wide. We recommend and often have available for your use pallets to keep your items off the ground to avoid moisture.

WHAT ABOUT FRAGILE ITEMS?

I have fragile items that need temperature control. Can you help? If your items are fragile or resistant to colder temperatures we recommend that you consider one of our temp-controlled units.

WHAT ABOUT BOATS?
Does Carefree Self Storage have storage areas for those? Large boat trailers are typically too wide for a standard unit door, but we do have units with wider doors to accommodate your boat storage and RV needs.

I HAVE PERSONAL AND BUSINESS STORAGE NEEDS

What should I do? Feel free to combine units and sizes to accommodate your needs. For example we have some customers who like to take one unit for their personal use and one for their business needs.

INTERIOR HEIGHT OF STANDARD UNIT
interior
What is the interior height of a standard storage unit? The actual interior height of the unit is slightly higher so that you can stack items. Heights can vary from 8' to 20'.
